SAFETY-BASED FLUID POWER WORKSHOPS
The Fluid Power Safety Institute, in partnership with the Fluid Power Training Institute, develops "safety-based," hands-on, hydraulic workshops. The workshops focus primarily on maintenance and troubleshooting with an emphasis on safety. The term "safety-based," simply means that students learn how to design, service, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems from the point-of-view of safety. Furthermore, the class is designed as a "hands-on" learning program, where students will apply concepts of fluid power and safety on hydraulic simulators throughout the workshop.
Both the Practical hydraulics workshop and the Troubleshooting Hydraulic Components workshop will benefit everyone who has anything to do with mobile and industrial hydraulics in the course of their work. Engineers learn unique ways to design hydraulic systems so they are safe and user-friendly. Maintenance technicians learn that there are ways to bleed air from hydraulic components, and troubleshoot hydraulic components, without EVER having to discharge pressurized oil to atmosphere. Also, technical writers learn to write manuals and instructions that are both safe and technically correct.
